Documents relating to a court case contesting the will and estate of Thomas Charles Pattle, ca. 1824.

Reproduces the last will and testament of Thomas Charles Pattle, an agent for the East India Company in Canton, China, and the depositions, affidavits, interviews, exhibits, etc. surrounding the suit brought by Pattle's widow Eliza Robson, and Pattle's deceased daughter's husband Edward Gibbon Wakefield against executors of the will and Richard Rocke, apparently Pattle's brother-in-law, and others. The suit seems to allege the legitamacy of a prior will, written in 1805, over the contested will, written in October, 1815, one month before Pattle's death. The suit began in 1819 and was resolved in 1824.
